I wonder why are people having problems with this navigation system. I still download all my apps the old fashion way. When the download is completed, shut your phone/computer off and turn it back on. Unless there are bug issues in some parts of the country and not in some other area. This map is still good to me.
Called customer & was able to get my central maps back. Navigon is still my best navigator app & much better than waze.
The reason app isnt starting up is probably because it tried doing a software update and you lost wifi signal during the installation. All you need to do is uninstall and reinstall the app while your iPhone has wifi signal. Follow up with your location software installation while your connected to wifi. It should fix your problem 100%
Everything is working as advertised. I like that you dont have to download maps until you need them - saves memory.
I now have my central maps back. A number of reinstalls was needed. A promised back to 5 stars.
I purchased the US Central app almost 3 years ago. Did not update as I read all the problems in the reviews. Recently updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5. I deleted the old app and installed the newest update, which did include the free map updates as promised with my original purchase. I have no extras. The app update has been outstanding in all regards. Based on my experience, it seems Garmin//Navigon may have fixed previous issues. I also recommend delegating the old before installing the new. I have no idea how extras affects the update issue.
Some bad moments
Unbelievable. Bought the central app a long time ago. Awhile ago bought the west coast maps for a vacation. Today Im driving from the Midwest to the west coast and the Midwest maps are gone! I only have the west coast maps. This is the Midwest app! Unbelievable. Now trying to navigate with the built in app with crappy AT&T service. Thanks Garmin. You totally screwed me.
Its broken and has been so for a while. What a POS. I wish they would refund our money. I cant wait until iOS 6
Like others have said, in app purchases of regions are broken. Ive bought west and east coast maps in the previous version and cannot install them.
The workaround is to reinstall navigon - then select the region you want in the map manager. After you download it, it will no longer let you select any other region. Have to reinstall to select the region. What a pain.
Still, I find navigon to have the best actual navigation of any app. I really hope these issues get resolved.
As of July 9th I will dont have the option to download Midwest states. I can download the east states but that is useless to me. I live in Illinois. I bought this to use in Illinois.
Garmin has taken a once useful app and has literally turned it into a waste of money.
I have loved using Navigon for years, but the latest update has made it unusable for me. I originally purchased the US Central version as I live in Texas. I made an in-app purchase of US East a few years ago for a vacation trip I was taking. Everything was good. With this update, I can no longer access the US Central maps, even though the app namre is US Central. I only have access to the US East maps. Looks like i will be using my iGo app instead.
I have Navigon central but new update doesnt allow use of central maps. Same thing happened on my iPad. Whats up Garmin?
